BUS ARRIVES HOME @ 5:30PM APPRX
FOOD
Concessions will be available at both sites. Lunch items will only be available at Chanhassen High School. If you are novice (first year) and competing at Chaska Middle School West there will be snacks to purchase, but you can purchase lunch upon arriving at the High School. Please bring Food and Water of your own to tide you over!
Bussing
There will be Chanhassen Shuttle busses taking novice students to the High School as they are done competing.
Novice/Varsity Split:
Because this tournament is so early in the season, we will be splitting novice and varsity competitors in all categories. We will not have novice final rounds (so novices can make it over to the high school to watch varsity finals). It would be our hope that novice competitors would go to the varsity final rounds for their categories to watch their eloquence. A novice competitor is a first year speech competitor or one who has switched from PA to Interp or the other way around.
We will keep discussion and novice extemp speaking and novice discussion at the high school. The middle school is only 5 minutes away.
Tournament Format:
Novice: Three preliminary rounds
Varsity: Three preliminary rounds and a final
Minnesota State High School League Event Info:
Extemp. Reading Prose: Varsity Students will draw from 1-10. Novices will draw from 1-8.
Extemp. Reading Poems 1-25 (students cannot repeat a cutting from their preliminary rounds in finals)
Storytelling Stories 1-8 (novice) and 1-10 (varsity) - (students can repeat a story from their preliminary rounds in finals)
