Lakeville North - March 5th

Sorry this post is late.  We were waiting from the tournament to see if we were able to get all of the students into the competition.

Lakeville North High School
19600 Ipava Ave, Lakeville, MN 55044

We will be hosting all 13 MSHSL events, honoring both MSHSL and NSDA rules, Impromptu (info for this event can be found in Files for download section) and POI. We will again offer three preliminary rounds of competition, breaking to semifinals in all events. Our tournament is once again a NIETOC bid tournament at the semifinal level for DI, Duo, HI, and OO.
Like last year, Extemp Speaking will be split into two divisions: Domestic and International. In light of NSDA National Qualifiers being held the following weekend and the popularity of this event in previous years at our tournament, offering two divisions would provide more students the opportunity to reach elimination rounds and thus more opportunities to speak. Due to time constraints, students cannot be entered in both divisions - they can, however, enter in other events.
We do allow double- and triple-entering, but in order to keep the tournament on schedule, there are a couple limits: Students in draw events (DX, ER, IX, ST) are welcome to register to compete in one non-draw events as well, but they cannot compete in a second draw event or two non-draw events. Students competing in Discussion are welcome to enter in one additional non-draw event. Because Impromptu is an in-room draw event with a running clock, we consider it a non-draw event for DE/TE purposes so students in other draw events and Discussion are welcome register for it.
Due to space constraints and our ambitious schedule, we have set caps on entries per event. Once an event reaches capacity, all additional entries will be put on a waitlist. We'll be monitoring registration closely and making adjustments as needed to accept as many entries as possible off the waitlist.

BUS - The bus will leave at 6:35 AM.  Please be on time as we will need to leave at 6:45 in order to allow for draw students enough prep time.  We HOPE to return at 6:30 PM/
